PARIVAAR

Hey elders, burn your caste certificates

All SC, ST and OBC ministers at centre & states and also party functionaries should burn their caste certificates to ensure social justice to all. They should also motivate their children to do the same. They have a moral duty to allow the benefits of reservation to reach those who are waiting for them for last more than fifty years.

MEIRA KUMAR AND RESERVATION BENEFITS

Meira Kumar is an elder. She is working for social equality. She should create an example before other elders in her party and elsewhere. She should declare how many times she has taken benefits of reservation as daughter of Jagjiwan Ram, after her marriage and then her children. After this she should point out what moral grounds she and her family have to still claim benefits under reservation policy. She should also justify that she and her children are still socially and financially backward.

I am sorry!!!

I am a senior citizen. I have been watching youth of India, as their movement for social equality moves forward. This is one movement which should be supported by every individual irrespective of age, religion, caste, political affiliation and any other aspect. I am sorry that we oldies are the cause of this great divide in Indian society. We did not do what was our duty. People who took over the governance of India from British adopted such policies which divided India into various castes and classes. My generation was youth at that time but we kept quite and did not oppose it. It is one sin my generation should be ashamed of.

I am sorry for it. I want to make amends. I can not be very active but at least I will give my full support to youth of India and their movement for creating a classless and casteless Indian society. This blog is a small step in this direction. I have also created other blogs - "think Positive", "love-all Hate-none", "Social Justice". I have provided an e-platform to elders of India to come forward and add their voice to the voice of youth.

It will be fitting on their part that elders should speak in favour of what youth are doing. My message to the elders - "Give the youth your wisdom. Guide them on the right path. You failed in your youth. Do your bit now. May God give you strength."

Charity should start at home

Each creamy layer politician should adopt one family from deserving SC/ST/OBC community. Lalu prasad, Nitish Kumar, Sushil Modi, Meira Kumar, Ramvilas Paswan ............ from Bihar. Kalyan Singh, Mulayam Singh ............... from UP. Uma Bharati ........................ from MP. A long list can also by including non-politician SC/ST/OBCs who are occupying senior positions in bureaucracy, juduciary and other services and biusiness. These politicians should also propose an amendment in reservation law to exclude creamy layer from getting any reservation benefits.

After all they also have a persaonal obligation for those for whom they fight.

Creamy layer should make way for SC/ST/OBC

Reservation policy is more than half decade old. It has benefitted some under-privilaged people but a very large section of people from SC/ST/OBC categories are still waiting for some benefit to reach them. The government has failed to determine the reasons for this. They have simply gone ahead to increase the share of rerservation. Government decision is not based on facts and figures. It is just a political decision to create more vote banks and to nurture existing vote banks.

If we take out the government out of it and try to find who can be responsible for benefits not reaching all targeted needy people, then we find that few beneficiaries of reservation continue to get benefits which should have gone to those who are yet to receive any benefit. Yes, the creamy layer.

Now this additional 27% OBC quota is yet another wrong decision. Till the time this creamy layer is not removed from beneficiary list this 27% will also not reach the real needy. This additional benefit will also be grabbed by this creamy layer.

I ask this creamy layer - don't they have any moral duty to allow the reservation benefits reach the most deserving? They have already taken benefits. They are now enjoying higher and higher positions in the society. They should themselves come forward and ask the government to exclude them fron getting any reservation benefit. They also have a duty for under-privilaged. Only general category people can not be expected to make all sacrifices. And even if they continue to make scarifices then who will benefit, this creamy layer only.

Now it is the turn of creamy layer to make way for SC/ST/OBC.

Why equality?

God has made all human beings equal. It is us, human beings, go against the will of God and create inequality. Indian society has been disintegrated into various classes, based on caste, social status, educational status, rulers and ruled and many others. The major blame for this goes to the elders. We, elders, have seen India gaining political freedom but could not convert it to economic and social freedom. The benefits of freedom could not be shared with all Indians. More false barriers of caste have been added to existing for grabbing all benefits for self and ourcaste groups. In short, elders have not been able to create a classless Indian society and in this process have lost the respect of Indian youth.

Indian youth are not ready to waste their time and energy in divisions. They see themselves as an Indian and want to be treated as such. It is a social crime to treat the youth as different people based on their caste, economic status etc. They want to love each other and not hate. Let us not create any more hate between the people. Let us, in our short time before we meet our creator, undo the wrongs we have done to Indian society and its people.

Do it or else!!

Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Meira Kumar has agian threatened Indian business and industry to voluntarily opt for reservation or else face a legislation. "You have to do it amicably. I am the last person to do it by legislation. Please, don't force me to a situation where we have to think of legislation. I have great regard for the captains of industry and they should do it. I think they understand their moral responsibility," she said in her threatening message.

She justified her threat saying that implementing reservation for the SC/ST in the private sector was a "commitment" of the congress-led coalition government at the centre - "Commitment is to both affirmative action and reservation. Affirmative action includes reservation,". Its implementation was "not just a possibility but it is a commitment."

Concluding her threat she said that there is no way other than voluntary action on the part of industry or legislation. There is no third way.

Now the situation has come to such a sorry pass that UPA government is threatening private sector to commit suicide. And who will be benifitted by this - nears and dears of people like Meira Kumar, the creamy layer. Reservation is there for more than half a decade. If still there are people who are left then why this creamy layer should continue taking benefits of reservations. Take them out of quota list and let the real needy get the benefit.

A white paper should be brought out by UPA government giving raw data about who had been benefited so far. It should start from those who are in the government, in parliament, in state/UT legislatures, leaders of political parties and prominent SC/ST/OBC people. Indian people have a right to know whe had grabbed the benefit of resrvation and how many times and for how many generations.
