Creamy layer should make way for SC/ST/OBC
If we take out the government out of it and try to find who can be responsible for benefits not reaching all targeted needy people, then we find that few beneficiaries of reservation continue to get benefits which should have gone to those who are yet to receive any benefit. Yes, the creamy layer.
Now this additional 27% OBC quota is yet another wrong decision. Till the time this creamy layer is not removed from beneficiary list this 27% will also not reach the real needy. This additional benefit will also be grabbed by this creamy layer.
I ask this creamy layer - don't they have any moral duty to allow the reservation benefits reach the most deserving? They have already taken benefits. They are now enjoying higher and higher positions in the society. They should themselves come forward and ask the government to exclude them fron getting any reservation benefit. They also have a duty for under-privilaged. Only general category people can not be expected to make all sacrifices. And even if they continue to make scarifices then who will benefit, this creamy layer only.
Now it is the turn of creamy layer to make way for SC/ST/OBC.
Why equality?
Indian youth are not ready to waste their time and energy in divisions. They see themselves as an Indian and want to be treated as such. It is a social crime to treat the youth as different people based on their caste, economic status etc. They want to love each other and not hate. Let us not create any more hate between the people. Let us, in our short time before we meet our creator, undo the wrongs we have done to Indian society and its people.
Do it or else!!
Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Meira Kumar has agian threatened Indian business and industry to voluntarily opt for reservation or else face a legislation. "You have to do it amicably. I am the last person to do it by legislation. Please, don't force me to a situation where we have to think of legislation. I have great regard for the captains of industry and they should do it. I think they understand their moral responsibility," she said in her threatening message.
She justified her threat saying that implementing reservation for the SC/ST in the private sector was a "commitment" of the congress-led coalition government at the centre - "Commitment is to both affirmative action and reservation. Affirmative action includes reservation,". Its implementation was "not just a possibility but it is a commitment."
Concluding her threat she said that there is no way other than voluntary action on the part of industry or legislation. There is no third way.
Now the situation has come to such a sorry pass that UPA government is threatening private sector to commit suicide. And who will be benifitted by this - nears and dears of people like Meira Kumar, the creamy layer. Reservation is there for more than half a decade. If still there are people who are left then why this creamy layer should continue taking benefits of reservations. Take them out of quota list and let the real needy get the benefit.
A white paper should be brought out by UPA government giving raw data about who had been benefited so far. It should start from those who are in the government, in parliament, in state/UT legislatures, leaders of political parties and prominent SC/ST/OBC people. Indian people have a right to know whe had grabbed the benefit of resrvation and how many times and for how many generations.
